Voyager Atl Interview : Rising Stars
Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Tice.
Hi Jennifer, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We started our company over 21 years ago during 9/11, with the activation of my husband deploying. Our grassroots in our farmer’s markets developed our relationships with our farmers and artisans and really drove the partnerships. I wanted to build a company with a focus on community-supported ingredients from our local farming and artisan partners. We believe in not just good ingredients, but the importance of the impact within our community. Some of our farmers and partners we have worked with for nearly 18 years. Sourcing local for us means that as we grow, so does our purchasing within our community, and we have a featured ingredient from them in over 90% of our products.
Prior to the pandemic, we rebranded our line and launched fresh to match the evolution of our company. With a bright, new aesthetic, we believe to truly reflects on the handcrafted products we produce. With no petroleum by-products, no soy, no gmo, no parabens, phthalates, or sulfates, we like to say we are loaded with all of the good, and none of the bad. We have always been Cruelty-free and Leaping Bunny certified, and have partnered with One Tree Planted for every purchase.
We hope to continue to grow, and build our farming partners with every bar sold.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely bumps and bruises along the way. From struggling with consistency in printer packaging, to sometimes crop limitations with raw materials. When you’re working with natural products, sometimes nature doesn’t always fall the way you want. From color variations in oils, to utter crop failures in various places where products grow best driving prices sky-high or even completely unavailable. But we have always reset and figured a way to strengthen the brand. It hasn’t been a fast road, but a turtle wins the race right?
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I love working with the natural materials we use. From incorporating new clays, new produce, or new recipes, there is always a creative way to explore. Things don’t always gel the way I think they should, but we can spin mistakes into gold and figure out creative ways to re-work the “uglies” that don’t turn out as planned, and sometimes they’re even better! I think the attention to detail and commitment to the product integrity sets us apart. There are ‘cheaper’ oils and materials that we could use for our products, but they just wouldn’t be up to our standards.
What matters most to you? Why?
Not just our ingredients, but the stories behind them. Whether they come from one of our favorite farmers, or because this particular plant/clay/oil/herb is better for you skin, that drives me. I treat every product as if my family were the ones using it, so it has to be good for them for it to be good enough for you.
